Humberto C. Antunes is proactively involved in research to address the issues arising from the ageing demographics, providing holistic health solutions, helping technologies converge and the digital revolution.
He managed Galderma, a pharmaceutical company, for almost 20 years. In 2014, he co-founded Nestlé Skin Health, a company committed to enhancing the quality of life by delivering science-based solutions for the health of skin over the course of people’s lives, that he led until end of 2016. Humberto promoted geographic expansion of the businesses to over 70 countries, created new distribution channels, acquired new audiences and led many successful acquisitions, integrations, joint-ventures, license deals and divestitures. Humberto led research teams on both sides of the Atlantic that achieved hundreds of New Drug Applications, patent filings and clinical trials. Galderma went from a pure prescription drug player in the US and France in the late 90s to a global dermatology company with well-balanced businesses in aesthetic & corrective medicine, prescription drugs and a thriving skin care consumer segment, including iconic brands such as Restylane, Azzalure / Dysport, Differin, Epiduo, Cetaphil and proactiv.
An active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Skin Association and the Women’s Dermatologic Society, he currently serves as a member of the AAD’s Corporate Relations Committee and chairs the Education Council of the American Skin Association. In 2017, Humberto joined the Board of Avadim Technologies, Inc, a bionome sciences company; co-founded Gore Range Capital, venture capital in healthcare and cooperates with Terra2 Solutions, a hub dedicated to innovative healthcare solutions for the future needs of mankind.
Humberto’s experience spans the globe, with positions that took him and his family through many countries. He speaks six languages fluently. He graduated in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and the IMD Lausanne, Switzerland.
Udi Arad, M.D., received his medical degree from the Hadassah Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and completed his residency training in Plastic Surgery at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center in Israel. He completed two fellowship programs at the University of Toronto in Pediatric and Breast Plastic Surgery, drawing inspiration from both fields in establishing Israel’s first clinic for Adolescent Breast Deformities at the Tel Aviv Medical Center. Dr. Arad is Director of the Breast Reduction and Asymmetry Service at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center. His main interests include oncoplastic breast reconstruction, reconstruction of breast and chest-wall deformities, and aesthetic breast surgery. Complementing his clinical interests, Dr. Arad conducts laboratory research in the field of breast implant biofilm-infection with focus on methods for prevention of infection and capsular contraction.
Professor Mark Ashton is Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne and Chair of Plastic Surgery at Epworth Freemasons Hospital. He is the former Head of Plastic Surgery at The Royal Melbourne Hospital (2001-2016). Mark is President of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and is an Invited Editor for The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal in America and Editor in Chief of the Australasian Journal of Plastic Surgery. He is an invited Faculty Member of the International Perforator Flap Course in Belgium, Chairman of the Melbourne Advanced Facial Anatomy Course and Part of the Organising Committee for the upcoming Breast Masters Symposium. Mark is Director of the Taylor Research Lab within the Anatomy Department of the University of Melbourne and is a Board Member and past Chair of the Surgical Committee for Interplast, a not for profit charity providing Plastic Surgery to the Asia Pacific. Yoav Barnea, MD Dr. Barnea is a specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery and the head of the breast reconstruction unit at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center in Israel. He is the past secretary of the Israel society of plastic and aesthetic surgery. He graduated medical school at Tel Aviv University and served in the army as chief physician of the airborne infantry brigade and commander of the medical officers’ course in the military school of medicine. He completed his residency in plastic surgery at the Tel Aviv Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in microsurgical oncological reconstruction at MD Anderson, Houston, Texas. There he developed a specialization in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, including microvascular breast reconstruction. Currently Dr. Barnea performs various types of breast surgeries, both aesthetic and reconstruction, and works in the breast health center, as part of the multidisciplinary breast team. He is involved in new medical technologies and start-ups, and serves as a medical advisor and consultant. He published scientific papers and book chapters on these subjects, both clinical research and basic science. He volunteers for the Israel Cancer Association and serves on the board of Bracha foundation, a non-profit organization for BRCA gene mutation carriers. Dr. Barnea is invited as faculty or visiting professor to numerous international plastic surgery and breast meetings.
Dr Ardeshir Bayat, MBBS PhD is a clinician scientist, a principal investigator and an associate professor at the University of Manchester, UK. He is considered an international expert on the subject of breast implant surfaces, and breast capsular contracture formation; having published extensively in this subject area. His group have created and patented novel biomimetic implant surfaces, developed models for better understanding of capsular fibrosis, identified biomarkers by examining the genomic/proteomic profiles of breast capsules and evaluated novel targets for modulation of capsular fibrosis and implant surface coating. He is regularly an invited speaker at national and international scientific/clinical conferences (in excess of 450 personal and supervised presentations given to date with 21 young investigator nominations for his team). He has published extensively (H index 46) in peer-reviewed journals (409 publications including papers, published abstracts and book chapters). He is a grant reviewer for many research councils and currently sits on the editorial boards of several journals. His laboratory has an independent capacity in carrying out molecular, cellular, histological, genetic and protein research in tissue biology and bioengineering utilizing state of the art equipment. His research thrives upon the multidisciplinary and interactive research environment that currently exists, which allows translation of basic science research to major therapeutic developments that will have direct impact and specific utilization in clinical practice.
Dr. Calobrace completed residencies in both General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He completed a cosmetic/breast surgery fellowship with Dr. G. Patrick Maxwell and began practice in Louisville, Kentucky in 1997. He has dual clinical faculty appointments with the Departments of Plastic Surgery at the University of Louisville and the University of Kentucky and received teaching honors in 2007, 2011, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Dr. Calobrace is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He performs approximately 1000 major cosmetic procedures each year, including facial surgery, body contouring, breast surgery, hair transplantation and post-bariatric rejuvenation. Dr. Calobrace is considered one of the leaders in the field of cosmetic breast surgery today in the United States performing over 400 breast surgeries per year. He has participated in multiple FDA clinical breast studies and has been a consultant and speaker for Allergan, Mentor and Sientra. Dr. Calobrace lectures extensively in the US and Internationally, is an ASAPS visiting professor , performed live surgery at the 2009, 2014 and 2016 at the Atlanta Breast Symposium and has published extensively on the subject of aesthetic breast surgery.
Professor Anand Deva is the Program head in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Faculty of Health and Medical Science at Macquarie University. He is also co-director of the Surgical Infection Research Group at Macquarie University, which undertakes research into the prevention of surgical and medical device infection. Additionally, he holds senior staff specialist position and Conjoint Professor at Sydney hospital in the Department of Hand and upper limb surgery. Professor Deva is considered a leading academic and has published widely on issues related to wound healing and surgical infection, especially in relation to implantable medical devices. He has been a consultant to both government and biomedical companies and is a frequent invited speaker at both local and international meetings. More recent research has focused on improving delivery of healthcare services with the recent award of a NSW State innovation grant to establish a novel integrated care program in the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. He is director of the not for profit integrated specialist education and research foundation dedicated to improving the access of Australians to quality healthcare. Per Hedén is an associate professor of plastic surgery at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, as well as founder and head of plastic surgery at Akademikliniken in Stockholm and London, England. Dr Hedén earned his medical degree at the Karolinska Institute, where he also completed his training and received a doctoral degree in plastic surgery. He is a member of the International Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Swedish Society for Plastic Surgery, and Swedish Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, among others. Dr Hedén also serves as a jury member, tutor, and faculty opponent and medical students’ dissertations and a research advisor for young plastic surgeons. A member of the board of reviewers of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr Hedén has contributed several chapters to plastic surgery textbooks and has authored or co-authored numerous articles in such journals as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Clinics in Plastic Surgery, and other peer-reviewed publications. Prof. Dr. Benoit Hendrickx graduated summa cum laude in medicine at the University of Leuven in Belgium. He obtained his specialist degree in plastic surgery after training and fellowships in Belgium, the UK and Australia with a focus on microsurgery and cosmetic surgery. Meanwhile, he also obtained a PhD in biomedical sciences . He currently holds a consultant position as associate professor in plastic surgery at the Brussels University Hospital (UZ Brussel) and has two private practices. His focus is on breast and body contouring surgery, as well as facial surgical and non-surgical aesthetics. He is the author of many scientific and clinical publications and developed a profound interest in facial anatomy and injectables. Patrick Mallucci graduated in 1989 from medical school to embark upon his surgical training. In 1993 he became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Having completed his general surgery he undertook his training in Plastic Surgery both in the UK and abroad, London, Oxford, Stoke Mandeville, Australia and Paris. In 1996 he was awarded the higher post graduate degree of Doctorate in Medicine (MD) having spent two years at University College London developing the concept of scarless wound healing. He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, FRCS (Plast) in 1998. Mr Mallucci is entered into the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Kavita Mariwalla is a nationally recognized leader in dermatology and dermatologic surgery in the US, whose expertise is in the areas of anti-aging procedures and skin cancer treatment. Prior to starting her own private practice, Dr. Mariwalla was the Director of Cutaneous Oncology at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt and Beth Israel Medical Centers in New York. Dr. Mariwalla has been recognized for extensive work in the area of dermatologic education and is considered an expert injector of fillers and neuromodulators. She has written two editions of the widely used book, “Primer in Dermatologic Surgery,” which is highly regarded by residents and seasoned dermatologic surgeons. Prof Hyoung Jin Moon is President of the BeUp Aesthetic Surgery Clinic in Seoul, Korea. He is also vice President of the Korean Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Prof Moon trained as a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellow at Seoul’s Yonsei University Hospital. Currently, Prof Moon sits on the Facial Plastic Surgery Boards in multiple Chinese cities. Ernst-Magnus Noah, MD, PhD, is a director at the Department for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Kassel, Germany.
After studying in Marburg and Lübeck, He did a residency in general surgery and completed his plastic surgery training in Hannover and Aachen university. Roy de Vita, MD, is the Chief of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department of the Italian National Institute for Cancer “Regina Elena” of Rome and he is also Coordinator of the Breast Unit of the same Institute.
